I nearly pulled the trigger on a house I could barely afford in rural WA next to a huge freshwater lake just because I figured there may be a 40% drop in equities anyway soon followed by a long slow recovery, and I could get a halfway decent job remotely no matter what.

All-in long term remote work for both of us. I'd already been doing it for 5 years when the pandemic hit, but she had never done it before. Homeschooling, which I've also supported for a long time but had never done before.

Decided to build a UV device with
@getchroma after seeing how large of a role nitric oxide and vitamin D may play in COVID-19. I previously felt hesitant to even think about UV, but once I looked into it I saw safety was rather trivial. Found ideal wavelength LEDs within few nm! -

Moved to the country. Not impossible to reverse, but ~medium sized commitment in future moving-back-to-the-city fees. It's the best so far.

More details: 1. Was mid-move from Australia to US when COVID broke out, cancelled move and returned home to large city. 2. After short-term accom in large city, moved to rural area ~120 miles away. wfh, with (<2hr) public transit link if necessary. 3. amazed at QoL.
