Yes! Toddlers aged 1-2 years have a VERY keen grasp of what each adult in their life will and won't let them get away with.

Friend said he remembers when he was 3 thinking his parents were p-zombies because they didn't go and get the ice cream from the freezer when there was no one to stop them, and no conscious being would behave that way.
