Primary life bottleneck now is chronic eyestrain from too much indoor time and failure to acquire suitable visual hygiene habits like 20-20-20 (stare >20 feet away for 20 sec every 20 min). Even if I did that I don’t think it would be enough. Need long unmasked walks

Visible spectrum or overall? And we don’t notice why? Log response and pupil contraction I’m guessing....?

Yeah, log response. Well outside the visible spectrum you aren't get anything indoors. Lumens are actually based on our eyes rather than just physics of light, it's the radiant energy multiplied by a bell curved shape response that peaks in green region.

Pupil contraction responds entirely or almost entirely to the melanopic action spectrum, which is the same curve that controls wake/sleep. This curve peaks in the sky blue / cyan region, which is exactly where there is a massive dip in standard LEDs -- so in practice, even worse!

visible spectrum. log response. pupil gives about 200x range, retina other 1,000,000x. we did not have sensors with similar range until about 2017.
