Fundamental Theorem of Robosociology “Life is too hard” ≡ “Rewards of life are not worth the effort of living” Cost of death imposed by society is a balloon payment on cost of life, designed to prevent de facto serfs from taking easy way out before robots are ready to backfill

Ironic that in Futurama, it is Bender the robot who keeps trying to commit suicide. In some ways he’s the proto Rick of Rick and Morty. Not a genius but that same division-by-void nihilist exuberance.

Suicide taboos are a cultural implementation of an economic imperative. Paradoxically if average human were worth less than zero, those who chose life would have much better lives. Negative expectations of average human are sustainable in postscarcity. https://twitter.com/jameslongleyhq/status/1271535295993917446?s=21 …https://twitter.com/JamesLongleyHQ/status/1271535295993917446 …

"The great tragedy of humans is that the average human is still worth something." Say more please.

One way to interpret that is to think of the value of humans to their immediate context, which voids with large scale economic factors at motion. We're partially there, as clusters of human tragedies are sadly worthless for the majority of all people(Venezuela's ongoing tragedy)

I wonder if we will reach affordable robots (that could replace us) faster than some form of fast cloning mechanism. If we could replicate human beings, regardless of consciousness, the value of physical permanence will drop rapidly.
