Seems way too pessimistic. We're probably just in the trough of the wave that on net is going up.

Well sure, but I mean even for working / oppressed people. It's not going to happen tomorrow, but the next several decades will get better. We needed this kind of period in order to push through the institutional sclerosis, but our long-term fundamentals are still strong.

Seemingly, most issues that befall normal people are more based on fundamentals: environment collapse, crop failure, plague, etc. Whereas countries rise and fall in more arbitrary ways - not that such dislocations don't heavily effect those populations, but not long-term.
