BP ‘glass’ is generally a tempered, specialty formulation glass & polycarbonate ‘sandwich’. It’s very thick & heavy, requires special mounting to be fully effective. Easy to spot if you know what to look for. Check YouTube for info- easy to find.

Tempered glass, various formulas & thickness all matter, yes. Good thick tempered stuff, much more expensive. Did (legal) demolition in a mall, a number of years ago- was VERY surprised when the plate glass from a Brookstone’s could take multiple hits from a sledgehammer!

Others mentioned tempered, etc. There is also various kinds of laminated glass. Some of the types can stand up to a lot of abuse.

People mention tempered glass as well as bulletproof glass, which combines glass tempering with a polycarbonate inner layer, but there is also pure polycarbonate glass which is stronger but is less resistance to scratches and weathering

Whether a glass breaks depends on the glass, and the force applied, but also the type of weapon used. A blunt object will often do far less damage than a sharp pointed object, depending on the glass type
