I asked about good examples of static sites in this tweet... would the responses have been very different if I’d asked for digital gardens? The overlap seems low. Static sites don’t seem like a particularly good fit for digital gardening.

I think digital gardens are interesting right now specifically because of the warren-ization of social media. Small communities want hubs for knowledge production. E.g. yak collective roam

And- in theory static sites are terrible technology for this *except* they tend to be blazing fast which is good for exploring and browsing through lots of pages

I think of it as a philosophy/aesthetic rather than a specific manifestation. A blog can be a kind of garden if you want it to be. Though I guess tools like Roam encourage/enable it more than others
