People are misunderstanding this. I’m not uninterested because I can’t find good music. That credits me with too much taste. I’m uninterested because I don’t care to tell good/bad music apart. I think framing it as “taste” is a good culprit for the source of this lack of interest. I can pretty much only get interested in music that conveys negative social taste points.

(Fwiw, I find it not at all puzzling that you have no interest in music. Lots of people don’t, and a lot of the presence or lack of it seems to depend on context and long-term acculturation.)
