Creative destruction is not a spectacle you can “watch”. The only way to experience its essence is to be on the inside, being remade by it. The part that can be observed from the outside is irrelevant, like the parking lot of an indoor mall. All it reveals is how many are inside.

Very true. I was head of product for Nokia's app store when iPhone launched and the Apple app store enticed most of our two million developers away. Being unprepared for architectural innovation made most of our strengths weaknesses.
