I'm going to set a pandemic proof goal for 2030, and test it against scenarios for both end-of-the-world and V-shaped easy recovery with perfect early vaccine. I'm sick of doing everything with modulo-18-months arithmetic and repeated back-to-square-one timeline.
It is interesting how little we are used to circular timelines with back-to-square-one sisyphean gameplay. Whether or not you believe in "progress", the 0 to 30 BC were definitely years of continuous accumulating change where we at least replaced old problems with new ones

I'm not sure I was any smarter in 2016 than I was in 2006, but at least I was grappling with different challenges that felt like a level up from 2006 challenges.
