As far as beefy book titles go, sowell's "The Vision of the Anointed: Self-congratulation as the basis of social policy" is Grade-A trash-talk. I wonder what a good liberal counter-title would be?

I don't recall finishing it, though I did start it. Sowell seems to be a rite of passage for young people trying to form a mental model of conservatism. Interesting that Sowell being black plays a role in that, since it eliminates certain expectations of suspect bias.
