I had a similar thought earlier tonight when I read a tweet by a guy saying he didn’t know anyone personally affected by C19, and I was wondering what might explain his good fortune (other than pure luck).

Lots of medical personnel are dying from Covid-19. They’re not “garbage people” you reference in the article. It also was brought here by Europeans, mostly wealthy, who don’t qualify either. Though I suppose you could just call them vectors of transmission rather than victims.
