I never understand my best decisions until at least 6 months after I’ve made them
The worst decisions though, I understand with great clarity months, even years in advance

Not the same as impulsive or thoughtless. This is after controlling for the amount of thought that went into a decision. Which is a function of how much time you have available for the decision. Which is rarely in proportion to the magnitude of the decision.

Imagine the chaos of ADD, where no thought goes into most decisions - but you have the same clarity to hate the bad decisions.
