So now that China has had a truly major failure attached to its reputation, how does that affect the future of its superpower aspirations? (I think it’s still well short of the USSR at its peak, so it’s like a superpower-lite aspirant right now)

China is the first country to have more than 1 billion digitally-connected consumers that share a common culture, regulatory environment, and lots of supporting infrastructure. More unicorns than the United States. 50% of all global luxury spending. They are THE superpower.
