So now that China has had a truly major failure attached to its reputation, how does that affect the future of its superpower aspirations? (I think it’s still well short of the USSR at its peak, so it’s like a superpower-lite aspirant right now)

Perhaps a major failure in being the origin of the outbreak, but a major success in containment and control of it. If anything, they’re going to return to productivity months before the western world and have more of a chance to surpass other countries as a superpower of the 20s

But how much does placing blame matter to becoming more powerful, when those placing blame will rely on their resources and knowledge? They’ve thrived despite global criticism before and likely will continue
