After a first very rough planning sketch of the view from my balcony, for a possible panoramic detailed drawing, I’ve kinda decided to give up (idea was to mimic the distorted panex option on iPhone). Too much work, too much detail.

So main challenge here is, if you’re sitting in a cuboidal balcony, and swing head left to right in a 180 degree arc, morphing perspective lines as you go, you’ll get these highly distorted curved perspective lines (red) as a frame for the view. Can’t get them right 🤬

Once upon a time I used to be good at this stuff. Never bothered to develop it. So now I just make the occassional janky cartoon.

Hmm... horizontal centerline/top of railing is probably curved wrong. It should be more like this. More of a fisheye though this isn’t really a fisheye perspective.

But damn, this would be a nice quarantine project since I spend so much bloody time staring out at this view now. I estimate it would take 3-4 planning sketches of about 30 minutes each, and like 5-6 hours for the full thing. I used to have the patience for that kind of detail.
