People who sometimes pick up on things others miss or get to much later. What I have so far: 1. Laypeople reading technical papers 2. People following conspiracy trails 3. People obsessed with privacy/cryptography 4. Unusually suffering-prone people 5. Extreme grudge holders

They may not do much themselves, but they often spot things that turn out to be important. Early warning personality types. EWPTs I’m particularly interested in EWPTs who spot important *people* early. Ones who might do big things. Like, which weirdo believed in Elon Musk early?

Interesting that many replies seek to identify a general category here. I think the list is actually corner cases of categorization schemes. A Borges encyclopedia of untypes. A toolkit of special purpose tools like inside pipe wrenches. The opposite of things like screwdrivers.

You don’t have to like or relate fully to the types in the list. They’re often unrelateable. You don’t have to agree with them generally: they’re often very wrong outside One Weird Lens. You just have to entertain their output instead long enough to do double-takes.
