VR is definitely a space expander. If a small space is properly built with VR in mind it could be a real space multiplier. Turn apartments into mansions. Just need the device to get a bit lighter and 1 Moore’s law doubling powerful. Can’t wait for the devices 5-10y down the line.

Ever been to an @thevoidever been to a installation? You’re 100% correct. Public VR installations tho are also pretty good infection transmission vectors.

Portability is a rather non-trivial problem for a VR device, and i don't see how it can really expand space in any meaningful way. Closest thing i tried is to VR-overlay the walls with frames showing cameras from all over the world.

My actual favorite idea for VR is having the equivalent of infinite monitors for work purposes. Open twenty docs at once and reposition. Some gesture recognition to switch between 'monitors' quickly. Minority Report UI but with actual benefits other than making your hands tired.
