Yes, prevalance of this shit lowers the threshold for societal breakdown. Normally shouldn‘t be in play (see Italy! https://www.wsj.com/articles/for-all-its-coronavirus-blunders-italy-offers-hope-for-other-democracies-11586364361 …) bc this isn’t a Cormac McCarthy situation (despite scaremongering about power grid failures) but US could be different.
