There is a serious problem with people getting their news from just one medium, or worse, one source within one medium. The worst is TV-only people. Second worst is newspaper-only people (esp a single newspaper). Twitter-only people are also guilty of bad epistemic hygiene.

Twitter is like a tech talk: a good source of keywords to Google for, if I care. Too many people pushing agendas to take the speaker's word for anything. Same as any other media, but at least here it's blatant.

I don't get why "reading newspaper articles linked off twitter doesn't count as reading newspapers... only going directly to the site and picking stuff off the headlines does." Once you go to the site, you have direct access to all content on the site.

Twitter: A wide spectrum of viewpoints, lots of misinformation, lots of good information and genuinely unique takes, links to other sources to read. Fox: Almost entirely lies. These things are the same.
