The sadness of all this starting to hit. Not just the immediate tragedy but the sense of the relatively happier world of the last few decades coming to an end. A sort of third age of middle earth coming to an end feeling.

On a certain class of futures, yes I’ve given up. Doesn’t mean other good futures are not imaginable or cannot be pursued. But a certain sort of positive vision has died for the time being, possibly my lifetime.
