This sums up a lot of my closest friends moments right before they start to get through breakups. They give themselves permission to stop thinking about it and just feel for a while.

Yeah it’s a coping strategy I’ve been using for decades. I very rarely need it, like every few years perhaps. But when I do, nothing else will do.

I like that idea, of thinkers feeling and feelers thinking, and both transforming. For some reason I immediately start wondering what novels or movies best exemplify this. It’s probably a common theme that I haven’t paid attention to. Anyone?
