I like the toy economic model at the bottom. Being right is costly for an expert & should be. Also: There's no cost to a non expert in being wrong. Sensitivity & specificity is a better frame than right/wrong.

There will be people who point out the failures of an authority figure & tell you that all authority fails similarly. Having gained your trust, they'll tell you other things that you normally wouldn't believe. This is called "redpilling" & it's the main way people get radicalized
