That’s because you’re mostly not paying for your own lives yet... and the ability of your parents to support you through this as millennials parents did through 2007-12 is far weaker. When that reality hits you’ll age as suddenly as millennials did.

As if millennials (and other gens) had it that much different. I finished high school the year the Great Recession hit. That was fun.

According to Strauss-Howe generational theory, the "life slaps" are different for each generation: for the Hero generation, the slap has an outer-world focus, for the Artist generation, the slap has an inter-dependency focus, etc.

For the Prophet generation, the slap has an inner-world focus, and for the Nomad generation, the slap has a self-sufficiency focus.
