(but seriously): food&shelter mode for society, for 6 months. A way to ensure the continuity of both for everyone. Postponing rent, small UBI and opt-out food baskets. All temporary.

At the risk of sounding glib: masks? Even if they don't push R0 below 1, any significant reduction would save bajillions of dollars

Two ideas:
1) a pause button -- employers don't have to pay salaries, renters don't have to pay rent, borrowers don't have to make payments -- for two months
The big problem I see with this is that everyone still needs to buy food. So where does that money come from, etc?
