Music fans: headphones please, when you’re in auditory shared spaces like the balconies of a building or apartments with thin walls.😬 Not everybody likes music, and those who do may not like the same music you do.

Urrgghh. This behavior bothers me as much as people sneezing/coughing not in their elbow. How can people be so goddamn oblivious? Would you go dancing around someone;s line of sight randomly when they’re trying to watch TV? Why are audio manners so hard.

I don’t want to be THAT guy ruining other people’s buzz, especially when music seems to provide otherwise stressed/depressed people with rare episodes of bliss and losing themselves in something something... but seriously. Sound travels more than sights, sneezes, or smells.

Had to ask my balcony neighbors to turn it down. Wife thinks I’m the one being the asshole (“when did you turn into the asshole neighbor, was it when you turned 40?”). But then she’s a perma-music type and Strategic Music Limitation Talks (SMULT) are core of our marriage detente.

Fully agree with you - I've thought of having a coffee shop that shines a really bright light / annoying directional speaker (LRAD style) at anyone who does this. People doing sales calls in a cafe - what the fuck are you thinking?!?!? 🤯🤬
