Hmm, strikes me that I replayed The Room 1-3 series because now after several years because it has an escape room theme within various mansion-scale domestic cozy building settings. Very much recent headspace and now live condition. Room 4: Old Sins is set in a nice toy mansion.

Because of domestic cozy blogchain I’ve been thinking about home spaces for a year now. They’re under-theorized and oversentimentalized. The Room series really gets at the “hard cozy” or “dark cozy” aspect as in cozy murder mysteries, haunted houses, lovecraftian monsters etc.

We’re all gonna get to know our homes a lot more intimately than we’ve ever known them. Beyond their capacity for comfort and refuge to their innate mystery, hidden horrors, intellectual challenge, etc.

Also I’m realizing I’m a black-belt grade homebody. I haven’t left the building in 5 days and the apartment for 3 of those, and I’m totally fine with it. Not getting cabin fever. Wife otoh is getting really restless. I think I’d do fine for fairly long periods.
