We paid one service person what we normally do for a deferred weekly in-person thing. Planning to do this where possible, for as long as possible. Who else is doing this? Somebody should think through and codify this particular practice which I hear a lot of people doing.

Hard to practice with randomized services though, like say uber, where you’d get a different driver each time.

Paying gardeners, yoga studio, person who drives my mother to medical appointments to stay home.
My motto: pay the people who you still want to be in business when this is over.

My wife has started paying 50% the cost of cleaning on a biweekly basis. Once things are back to normal we'll get half price cleanings for some time period. This was the agreement reached and it seems ok.

We paid for cleaning 2 months forward without expecting anything in return, bought extra 10 entries to our yoga studio on top of the regular membership. I need to ask my beauty salon if they accept payments online 🤔

We're contributing to the Twin Cities DSA solidarity fund, as well as some local neighborhood requests for assistance, and buying some gift cards from local shops and restaurants.
