at least for me, i think that being super online has lowered my expectations on how Trump would handle this to the point where the speech seemed genuinely better than expected, but that most people hadn't updated that low

It was a speech placing blame on others, especially Europeans and Asians. He characterised the disease as a 'foreign virus'. Leaving aside his ignorance, that's really bad governance.

Not sure anyone ... president or not can ask to shut things down and keep the economy up... it seems like getting what we want (stock market values, conferences and meetings with our audience) and what we need (NOT DYING) may be in conflict

Adjust the dial of your filter for the Negativity towards Trump (or over positivity by his fans) look at The actual proposal, which includes things to help small business, sick/quarantined workers, opening red tape for some potential medicines and evaluate yourself.
