One of the problems with the cozyweb is that while it blocks entryism, culture war, and sociopath infestations, it also reduces the surface area for serendipity, happy discoveries etc. Given enough time it will get as toxic as a lawless public sphere, just in a different way.

Very shitty things can happen in the warrens of cozy communities. Catholic Church and Penn State abuse cases come to mind.

Ah, I was implicitly assuming that one can just exit a cozy space; that's the power of the web. But, no, people don't actually reliably work that way.
Maybe cozyweb communities need even *cheaper* forking.
