I've been biting my tongue for about two weeks now: "Remote conference" completely misunderstands the purpose of conferences and is DOA. The entire point of a conference is that it's not remote.

I remember world of warcraft raiding with a regular group as feeling like a real social interaction that was better than random conferences.

The thing that's missing from conference calls is a shared social experience. What I dont know if that's possible for people who aren't computer gamers.
