I’m increasingly starting to believe this thing has been spreading globally for at least several weeks longer than we think. All the containment was closing stable doors after the horse had bolted. The apparent pandemic is a delayed detection pandemic as testing spreads.

I’ve wondered the same. I came down with something in late December that had mostly mild symptoms but really went after my lungs in an unusual way. The cough lasted for weeks.

On some level this is the best case scenario though -- that all the dangers have already been accounted for by the "particularly bad flu season" this past winter...
