What if the gods of the future are really bicamerally segregated collective unconscious memories of a civilized past within a rewilded mind? What if our descendants are chimps running “human 2020” in VMs, but only as talking gods heard by the chimp mind? 🤔 Wild thought, huh?

Did you watch the first season of West World? Firmly grounded in Jayne’s ideas, but was enjoyable without having to be aware of them at all.

Westworld raises and beautifully articulates many interlocking questions of identity, memory, consciousness, agency, and the essence of the human experience. Absolutely fantastic.

Hmm it’s like your idea that alt accounts represent the rise of a new kind of bicameral mind where we’re the god-like voices inside multiple artificial digital heads. Except artificial digital heads == chimp descendants

I just had an insight this morning about trust, relationships, and generative networks.. which leads me to think that such a network of a alt-accounts won’t yield anything interesting until there is a way for them to form *trustful* relations, whatever “trust” means at that level

Love it. Reminiscent of Peter Watt’s vision/question in Blindsight, namely, what if alien hyper intelligence is a hive mind and *not* a unified singular conscious experience? Stapleton has a very light version of this in Starmaker as well.
