I've had half-assed ideas about reconstructing it from amazon purchase records and limited library checkout info and just going through my paper-book collection but it would be a serious schlep and incomplete

Honest question... How would this help? Ive been meaning to keep a book log but havent done it yet.

For me just seeing the title usually (85%+ of cases) allows me to at minimum state the thesis/plot summary. Without the titles as prompts, I can't do it.

I beg to differ. You forget most things you don't repeat, and if you don't even make a note of it how are you gonna know what to repeat? Look up Hermann Ebbinghaus.
