This does not generally happen with other topics, like org politics or tech etc, when something I write gets noticed/popular within the world it’s about. There’s a clear distinction between the thing and the commentary on the thing. Insiders argue with me as an outsider.

But with culture/design, the thing *is* in large part conversations about the thing. When you notice and talk about it you help construct it. Happened once before with my future post which briefly had a bit of a funhouse mirror refraction journey through the UX/design world
