I would suggest transitioning data so that the customer (user or company) doesn't have to trust one corporation with their data, limiting exposure of a privacy breach or downtime, is rethinking/innovative. self-hosting and decentralization options are the future.

The ipfs based Notion clone counts then
But this isnt the problem I'm talking about here - first problem is building tolls for thought and collective intelligence

Do you know the URL/name of that clone? A quick search isn't showing anything.
The first problem to me is being able to trust where my data is, and if I know clearly it's private, under my control, or shared for collective intelligence (public). Joplin is closest for my wants.

For Roam, some free advice: consider make it stand out in the UI what is public, shared, and what is private (only for the user writing it). It should be really obvious (an interaction) when that state changes.
