Explore-exploit tradeoff: the longer you explore ideas in life, the more writing bad/mediocre science fiction will become the only way you can exploit what you’ve learned through exploring. So cut back on exploring and start exploiting early.

Can you say more? Are you saying: the more space u explore, the harder it is to connect the dots? Or the more time u explore ideas, the further to the fringes u go and it makes little sense there?
