Challenge: You have to develop an algorithm to run your life because you’re about to lose all higher executive function to a strange condition. Sketch out the basic logic you’d implement.
plot twist: I already have almost zero executive functioning and so the few patterns that have stuck are worn deeply into my brain like grooves: my entire life runs off of these models
It’s very hard for me to switch tasks ever, and so when I do I have quite complicated processes around them because it’s hard for me to prioritize what comes next. I either am so zeroed in on one thing I zone everything out or sudden a billion paths are visible,
So I create rituals around task switching - and deeply formed patterns where I pause to think about the last time I ate, wether I have gas in my car, wether I need to charge my phone, etc before going from one thing to the next
When I start class for example it’d be - logon 15 minutes early, review lecture, open new colab & input a variety of preset hyperlinks, get water, open my notebook to the right page, title it and create an area for questions - make sure ive eaten, etc
I've been through periods of limited executive function when I was physically sick. One thing I had to figure out is to "automate" environment-maintenance, and zero in on very specific activities that truly *require* my presence and attention
