A bit like being knurd, huh? It's objectively horrible, but I'm really quite at home with it. I definitely have a lot of sympathy for those who want no part of it.

Knurd in the sense of "seeing horrid reality, and yet somehow still energetic enough to engage it". Drunken ambition is possible too, but you don't seem the type. (Hell, I feel a 2x2 coming on.)
