are there canonical texts on why suburbia breeds paranoia? i’ve always suspected it’s about distance from other people/other people being constantly on the periphery, but not sure if that’s really a sufficient explanation

what are the classic urbanite paranoias? I see the case for the rural ones.
finance/economy related I think... we overindex on money because we depend on it more. Hard for me to see since I’m pretty urban myself.
