The only pants I've ever owned with a button fly have been army-surplus fatigues and work dungarees...
Since Levi's 501's (as far as I know they never changed it all of these years). So it's basically neither, it is retro...
Use to have one but ditched it....when things are really URGENT then you begin to miss the zipper dearly.
