I think there are things like this around "native" traditions, especially aboriginal peoples who have suffered various degrees of genocide. But no reason not to extend it to everybody.

there is a strong cultural parallel to the hypocrisy of wanting subsidies for the cronyist industries that employ you while also acting like direct welfare is some sort of victim-creating moral travesty...

magatrad type things are like demanding state subsidies for majoritarian cultures so participants can feel like their culture is thriving on its own strengths, while also sneering at minority sensitivities around appropriation etc.

For the record, I'm against both. Protect nothing, appropriate everything. Art/culture is one domain where I'm kinda in favor of hobbesian darwinism of the cartoon variety. Memes good. Shove everything into a permanently on shredder.
