when I see joke tweets I don't get bc I have no familiarity with the subject I like them anyways that way I will eventually be able to laugh at jokes about that topic through brute pattern-matching and nobody will suspect a thing

I understand 90% of the programming/IT jokes made in the comments of larger subreddits and I probably couldn't write "hello world" in any language in this moment, without googling to ensure I don't miss a semicolon

I bet I could pass at a party/casual social encounter for having expertise in so many STEM fields hmmm A Guide: 1. if people try to shop-talk, groan and say "oh my god I need to not think about work" 2. laugh at topical jokes if at least 2 people are laughing

3. if anyone shares an "holy shit can you believe coworker/dumbass on the internet did this thing?" story, just groan sympathetically after waiting a beat in case anyone jumps in with "wait why is that wrong?"
