Like with almost everything else, 90% of sociability boils down to pacing yourself, staying hydrated, and listening at least as much as you talk. Preferably way more.

I'd disagree with that. Ultra specialisation also paints you into a corner, making you more vulnerable. Better to acquire skills in adjacent domains. At least in software, that puts you in a better position.

Corollary - two related specializations can be more valuable than just one. In my industry- people with expertise in disruptive tech *and* the one it displaced have awesome opportunities.
