I've been working on a game based on mazes with @danielfschmidt and @ZachaReid, and we finally have the minimum-viable playable version of our concept. It can be played in a browser (laptop). Give it a spin and let us know what you think, and whether you were able to solve it.https://twitter.com/mazestructure/status/1224845891137343494 …

... not sure I won, so much as irrecoverably broke it

oh did you land on an error? or get trapped in one of the 3-4 infinite loops possible?

I got the halo, and found out I could run through walls, then ran off the edge of the world a few times. Usually space-bar would get me back to the start, but one time this stopped working and I got stuck down below. Suspect this is not supported behaviour!

hmm, I'm not actually sure what's supposed to happen after halo... but was getting to halo part fun? frustrating? tedious? interesting?

The infinite loops were amusing, I liked the style of the thing. It felt a bit brute force, though.

Replying to @stubborncurias @vgr and
The halo bit was fun while I thought I was in a meta-game :)

eventually you'll level up into the next maze when you finish one... so yeah there's a meta game aspect... but by brute force you mean, solving it felt like brute forcing all possible paths?

yes, the way I did it, although by the end I realised I could have just avoided the red crosses

I think halo mode is in fact supposed to behave like that... :)

Yup, Halo mode is supposed to be a fun little god-mode in this version. I suspect when you couldn’t get back, you had been falling for awhile? I could see that screwing things up.

Maybe. Pressing space got me hovering above the start point, but when I let go I would drop back down. Also the arrows on the map went very small. It only happened once and didn't matter at all
just got curious about it0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes
