Huh, unlike aphantasia I don’t actually get what this no-inner-monologue thing is about. I can do inner verbal thought or turn it off like a radio and go verbally silent as needed. And when on, it isn’t a particular voice, just auditory-like streamhttps://ryanandrewlangdon.wordpress.com/2020/01/28/today-i-learned-that-not-everyone-has-an-internal-monologue-and-it-has-ruined-my-day/ …

This one did confuse me almost as much as aphantasia. I am also monologue-less, and I find it almost impossible to believe that anyone has a true inner monologue narrating consistently. wtf do they feel like they're living as the protagonist of a movie?

I wouldn’t describe it as a full monologue, ie it’s not as if I narrate everything I do. But “thinking” for me is entirely inner monologue-based. It’s kind of cool that what consciousness *is* to some people is totally unavailable to others.

wait so when you talk are you in part just saying the things that already got said mentally?

(I ask because part of why IMO I'm a pretty decent speaker is that the conversion process from apparently conceptual thoughts to spoken word is an extremely deliberate one)

Yes, basically everything I say/write gets narrated, either a fraction of a second beforehand or way in advance. This isn’t normal?
