Why are we increasingly seeing shoes marketed as ‘can be worn without socks’ as key feature?
Allbirds types washables, some canvas looking sneakers, and I’ve seen a leather brand too
People hate socks that much? I kinda like socks with shoes. Otherwise I wear slippers.

if odor, sweat, fit, traction etc inside the shoe are handled by the shoe itself, i prefer sockless. i love to let my feet breathe, but i concede that sometimes I must wear foot-armor.

It's always loafer style, never boots. People need to see that you have no socks. That's part of how you know it's just a passing fashion statement. This despite common knowledge that it's not good for the shoe or for the foot.

I want slippers that are acceptable to wear in biz casual work settings or outings with friends. So sockless shoes are excellent
