Schelling points are fascinating. They magically create something from nothing and direction without leadership. All it takes is a crowd with an imperfect understanding of itself. True north = the most popular candidate for the most popular candidate for true north.

Okay, about half the people are getting the point of a Schelling point game, the other half are getting it exactly backwards. Unlike most social media games, the point is not to stand out, but blend in to the crowd the most.
The cleverest answer is by definition the most wrong.

Hmm. Schelling point tour of top answers to this would be a good way for a tribe to scout. Locust swarm tactic.

A crowd that knows itself really well should produce only 1 answer. Dirac delta consensus.

New to me. Closest prior encounter with a similar concept was the "standalone complex" which essentially amounts to similar humans reading similar books/sites thus forming similar beliefs and and thus taking similar actions. No coordination or prior planning required.
