If we’re going to use 1 term, it should be “faceless” not “homeless”. The big common factor is loss of personhood.

the people I saw in tenderloin SF felt like ghosts to me, notably different than poor/homeless people I’ve seen around Southeast Asia - who, in this frame, aren’t as faceless
