If we’re going to use 1 term, it should be “faceless” not “homeless”. The big common factor is loss of personhood.

He handed it back and asked me if I was sure. I told him yes. He said thank you, dapped me up, and left. He was not much older than me (I was 23). I remember that moment anytime I encounter a “homeless” person. If without cash, I at least lock eyes and say “sorry”.

Twice in LA I’ve seen homeless people turned out of restaurants for trying to buy something while a little too non-presentable (eg trying to drag large garbage bags in behind them up to the counter).
